IN MEMORY OF MS. CYNTHIA KOONTZ
11-15-21
Jefferson ISD lost a great educator and friend on November 10th, 2021. Ms. Koontz was not just a teacher, she was a caregiver. She was loved by everyone who knew her, especially her family, her students, and the elementary staff who worked closely with her. The following statements are from folks who worked with her at JISD.
Mr. Zack Venable, Elementary Principal:
“Ms. Koontz was a sweet lady with a kind soul and a big heart. Without a doubt she will be greatly missed. All of us here at Jefferson Elementary School will always have a place in our hearts and minds that only Ms. Koontz can fill.”
Ms. Mindi Cox, Elementary Assistant Principal:
“Our hearts are broken by the news of this fabulous educator and friend. Mrs. Koontz was such a caring and loving lady that brightened everyone’s day. She deeply loved her “star students,” and was always so excited to tell about every one of their accomplishments. She always built her kids up, no matter what. I am very blessed to have known her.”
Various comments from 1st Grade Students at JES:
“Ms. Koontz taught us words and we had fun together”.
“Ms. Koontz was good at math and she was a good teacher”.
